6/17/25: Large crowd packs Lloyd ZBA public hearing (Southern Ulster Times)

Last week the Lloyd Zoning Board of Appeals [ZBA] held a public hearing on a determination made by Building Department Director Dave Barton that a proposed Pet Crematorium is a ‘Service Business’ and is allowed in the General Business zoning district. The proposed crematorium property is located at 3525-3523 Route 9W, about 200 feet from the Highland Elementary School, which borders the site.

The ZBA meeting was standing room only as residents expressed their strong opposition to the project because of the emissions from the project and especially due to its close proximity to the school.
