LLOYD, N.Y. – A pet crematorium proposed to be only 200 feet from Highland Elementary School is the stuff that nightmares are made of for several dozen opponents of the Heavenly Heart Pet Cremation application.

Nearly 40 people turned up to protest the project during a Thursday, June 12, town Zoning Board of Appeals meeting.

Among concerns is the expectation that a crematorium would have toxic emissions regardless of promises that state standards will be followed.
