Last week Meghan Quinn spoke to the Highland school board to express her opposition to a proposed pet crematorium that is about 200 feet from the Elementary School.

Quinn has a child in kindergarten and said the school district has “already exceeded my already high expectations; the faculty, the staff, it is amazing what you do in such a small district...and I want to thank you.”

Quinn noted that the Highland School district has a good reputation, which she added is ‘priceless’ and that the proposed project is putting that in jeopardy, “because of a short-sighted, nonsensical and frankly a highly unusual proposition, which is putting a bulk animal incinerator 200 feet from an elementary school.” Quinn told the board that in comparison, the closest animal incinerator to any school in New York State is more than 2,000 feet away.
